Our appeal for funds to help us get the Minories up and running again has been launched by our Trustee, Ben Coode-Adams. Ben writes:
Please make a donation to help re-open the Minories. It is a fantastic and much loved art gallery in Colchester, Essex. It is the kind of place you would really like if you have never been there. It is a building full of great memories of past exhibitions, and future possibilities.
The Minories has an extraordinary and special place in the cultural life of Colchester anchored firmly in the visual heritage of East Anglia, but also a place of experimentation, innovation and invention supporting and developing the economy of artists in the region.
I am a trustee of the Victor Batte-Lay Foundation. We are a small charity but we have ambitious plans to reimagine and reopen the Minories as soon as possible.
We are planning for an exciting, secure and sustainable future and need to raise funds to begin the transformation process. We would love it if you felt able to make a donation of whatever size to enable us to reopen the Minories and develop its future.
We are deeply saddened by its current closure. We have been overwhelmed and heartened by messages and offers of support. But now it is time to turn that sentiment into action. Do please donate now! Thank you in advance. Ben
